4 Practices Your Business Can’t Succeed Without

content onlineQuick quiz: What are the most widely used content marketing tactics in today’s content marketing world?

According to Smart Insights, the “most popular content marketing tactics used by B2B marketers are article posting (79 percent), social media excluding blogs (74 percent), blogs (65 percent), and newsletters (63 percent).”

Are you incorporating all of these in your content marketing campaigns? If so, high five; carry on. If not, here’s a quick overview of the benefits of each and why you should include them in your marketing strategy.

  1. Article posting: Write articles that appear on external sites related to your business or industry. They drive traffic to your website, assuming you add links back to your site where appropriate. These articles also fuel your search engine optimization (SEO), meaning people are more likely to find you on the Web. Plus, posting on external sites boosts your company’s reputation as a respected voice in the industry.
  2. Social media: Social media channels like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and others allow timely two-way engagement between a company and its customers. The power of immediate, transparent customer conversations make social media a must-have in your content marketing toolbox.
  3. Blogs: As discussed in last issue’s eAdvisor Marketing Factoid article, B2B companies with blogs generate 67 percent more leads per month on average than non-blogging firms. Why? Blogs fuel SEO, which in turn fuels leads generation. And according eConsultancy.com: “SEO-driven leads have the highest lead-to-close rate (15 percent) among common lead generation sources.”
  4. Newsletters: Newsletters educate prospects and customers on a regular basis. They tend to be more content-rich than other strategies, allowing them to serve as a foundation for other content marketing tactics. Content created for the newsletter can easily be repurposed into blog posts, tweets, updates, etc.

Does your content marketing strategy include all four of these proven strategies? If not, then it’s time to make a few adjustments.
