Dawn Cyr, Content Manager

One key component of every successful eNewsletter is quality content. As Content Manager, Dawn Cyr oversees the content development of each Proven Systems eNewsletter. To ensure that content is relevant and meaningful, Dawn must gain an intimate knowledge of each Proven Systems client and learn the intricacies of the client’s products, services and targeted message. She draws upon her extensive technical writing background to research article topics, conduct interviews with key sources, assign articles to the appropriate Proven Systems writer and coordinate writing timelines to ensure all deadlines are met.

This balancing act is one Dawn has progressively honed throughout her 15-year career in editorial management. While working toward her Master of Arts degree in Communication Development at Colorado State University, Dawn taught undergraduate English courses and developed a love for helping others refine their writing skills. Upon completing her degree, she pursued this passion by joining the editorial staff of publishing giant Duke Communications (later Penton Technology Media). During her 12 years with Penton, Dawn worked her way up from editorial assistant to senior editor, managing writers and the technical content creation for major technology publications like Windows IT Pro Magazine and SQL Server Magazine. Joining Proven Systems in 2008, Dawn brought with her a wealth of experience managing writers and translating highly technical concepts into simple and direct content.

Outside her role at Proven Systems, Dawn “stays far away from the computer” and delights in cooking, gardening, reading, knitting, being a wife to her history-buff husband and mom to their active 10-year-old daughter. Raised in Colorado’s western slope town of Montrose, Dawn now lives in Loveland and has proudly called northern Colorado home since 1985.

Dawn’s outlook on what makes Proven Systems so unique: “Proven Systems is truly dedicated to and invested in the success of its clients. We want each client’s newsletter to be a success, its company to be a success and its customers to be a success. We strive for that success by putting a lot of energy, skill and work into what we do for our clients.”
